More...Guam's green economy is expanding with innovative sustainability efforts by the University of Guam. As part of the Guam Restoration of Watersheds (GROW) Initiative, UOG's Center for Island Sustainability and Sea Grant is pursuing Gold Standard Carbon Credit Certification for tree planting in southern Guam. This initiative supports reforestation, reduces land erosion, protects freshwater sources, and enhances marine ecosystems. A community meeting on April 7, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Guam will provide insights and gather input on the certification process.
