Women and Gender Studies students at the University of Guam made a donation today of diapers and various other products to Alee Shelter, an emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Guam. The donation followed a two-week Nene Care Diaper Drive, a service project the students organized in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Alee Shelter has been providing services for an increased number of infants since September and has been in need of diapers and baby wipes, according to Alee Shelter Executive Director Diana Calvo.

“Donations like this make our jobs easier,” Calvo said. “This is a testament of the resources available. It really takes a village.”

The drive collected items from the local community, the UOG community, and the business community, including a pallet of items donated from Ambros Inc. Triple J Auto Group assisted with the drive and served as a drop-off location.
