SBPA Dean’s Speaker Series to focus on indigenous language
The Dean’s Speaker Series, hosted by the School of Business & Public Administration’s Bank of Hawaii Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at the University of Guam, will feature a lineup of entrepreneurs and innovators this semester, each sharing their stories through the lens of indigenous languages, world languages, and the emerging online virtual languages. The series’ focus is in solidarity with the United Nations General Assembly proclaiming 2019 as the International Year of Indigenous Languages.
“Communication is the cornerstone of business and provides a platform for effective commerce, sustainable development, and cultural competence, so we are excited to highlight language as the common thread of our speakers this semester,” said Holly Rustick, program manager for the center.

The SBPA Bank of Hawaii Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation will host subsequent Dean’s Speaker Series throughout the fañomnåkan semester. All events will be held in the SBPA Bank of Hawaii Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, located on the second floor of the SBPA building at the University of Guam.
Students, faculty, civic leaders, government representatives, and community members are welcome to come to these free events.
