This hands-on, beginner-friendly experience designed especially for youth who want to explore the art of sewing in a fun and supportive environment. Campers will start by learning basic hand-stitching techniques using colorful yarn on blank canvas, helping them build confidence and coordination. As their skills grow, youth will be introduced to sewing machines, where they’ll learn how to safely operate equipment and complete simple, creative projects. By the end of the program, each camper will have crafted their own personal pin cushion and a wearable apron—projects they can proudly take home and use. With a focus on creativity, skill-building, and fun, this program encourages campers to express themselves while gaining practical sewing skills they can continue to develop long after camp ends.

Participants will piece together clues, decode forensic science terms, and solve crimes in a challenging, immersive experience. Beyond the thrill of investigation, students will discover the diverse branches of STEM involved in solving crimes, including DNA extraction and identifying chemical properties.

A dynamic workshop that tackles both financial literacy and nutrition education all in one place. Over the course of the week, middle school youth will dive into real-world money skills like budgeting, smart spending, and goal-setting through Money Moves — all while weaving in nutrition concepts that show how making wise financial choices and healthy eating decisions go hand in hand. Food Smarts empowers them to build a wholesome diet from the ground up, exploring the benefits of whole grains, learning how to build strong bones through smart food choices, and sharpening their ability to see through misleading food marketing tactics. Together, these two programs give middle schoolers a powerful foundation in both healthy eating and healthy finances, showing them that taking care of your body and your wallet go hand in hand.

The University of Guam Fine Arts Program and 4-H Youth Development present the Summer Theatre Camp, an exciting six-week experience for youth ages 9–14 to explore acting, singing, and stage performance. Held at the UOG Fine Arts Theatre, youth will build confidence, creativity, and teamwork skills while preparing a full musical production. The program culminates in live performances of Seussical: The Musical from July 14–17 for families of participants, other UOG and 4-H campers, and the public. It’s the perfect opportunity for youth to try something new, make friends, and shine on stage!

This comprehensive program not only imparts practical skills for a lifelong engagement with fishing but nurtures a passion for continuous learning. Moreover, it opens doors to potential college and career pathways in marine science and seamanship.
